Palladium

What Is Palladium?

Palladium is a multi faceted metal from the platinum family. Palladium`s industrial value as well as its uses for jewelry, makes it a metal in high demand. Silver in color, palladium is often times alloyed with gold for the white gold appearance. Because it contains many of the same properties as platinum, palladium is often times used as a substitute for platinum. With more than half of all the palladium in the world coming from Russia, it is unclear exactly how much palladium is actually above ground.

Why Invest In Palladium?

Because palladium`s price fluctuates regularly, investors looking for profits watch palladium prices closely.  Case in point, palladium spot prices have doubled in 2010 and some experts believe the price is going much higher. Palladium has yet to make a big splash as an investment metal and is technically not in the same class as gold, silver and platinum. That being said if you are one of those who like to speculate, palladium could be a great way to diversify your metals portfolio.
